Overview
Victoria Embankment Gardens is a peaceful spot with well-kept paths, colourful flowerbeds, statues (notably one of The Bard himself, Robert Burns) and fountains. It opened in the late 1800s as part of the Embankment project, which helped transform this stretch of the river into what we see today. I passed through during my London adventures and couldn’t help but stop and take it all in. There are views of the Thames and the London Eye, and plenty of spots to stop if you fancy a break.
Transport & Parking
There are several bus stops on Victoria Embankment, all well served by regular buses. Embankment Underground station is also nearby and is wheelchair accessible. Parking options are next to nil.
Access
Victoria Embankment Gardens park is a nice, long floral path to wander on a pleasant day, and evidently a hotspot for local workers during lunchtime. Throughout the gardens, there are benches, though many people were content to sit on the grass. There is level access throughout, and despite the absence of additional access features, it is generally a pleasant place to be. There is a play park here also, though I did not notice any accessible equipment.
Toilets
There is an accessible toilet and a Changing Places toilet nearby. I've reviewed the Changing Places toilet separately under "Changing Places Toilet at Victoria Embankment"
