Venue Description

Weymouth Beach is a three mile beach and is just minutes from the town centre and historic harbour. There's plenty of entertainment for everyone to enjoy on Weymouth Beach ranging from traditional attractions such as Punch & Judy and donkey rides, to lively events such as beach volleyball championships, live music and free summer firework displays. Enjoy a stroll along the level promenade or on the sands or just relax in the sunshine on a summers day. The views from Weymouth Beach and the bay are spectacular, stretching across the horizon taking in the Jurassic Coastline, visitors and residents of all ages can find something to enjoy whilst taking in the stunning panoramic views of Weymouth Bay. Weymouth beach has won awards for its quality, cleanliness, safety and management annually for well over 15 years and has been recognised in numerous surveys as one of the best beaches in the country.

All year - Slipway access to the beach along the promenade May to early Sept - 2 x all terrain beach wheelchairs, FREE to hire Access matting on the beach to allow access to beach level in own wheelchair, mobility scooter, walking frames, crutches etc. Runs parallel to promenade wall not to the waters edge due to tides and shifting sands

Staff

Beach Control staff work from May until early September, they are identifiable b their navy blue uniforms with BEACH CONTROL written on the back. All staff are radio linked to the office and are happy to help with any queries.

Assistance dog exercise facilities

Assistance dogs prescribed by; Dogs for the Disabled (registered charity number 700454); Support Dogs (registered charity number 1088281) and Canine Partners for Independence (registered charity number 803680). Are permitted anywhere on the beach at anytime as long as being used for their prescribed purpose.

Other assistance dog facilities

Dogs are permitted on the beach all year round near the pavilion and on Preston beach. From 1st November until Maundy Thursday all dogs are permitted anywhere on the beach
