Overview

I visited the Doctor Who exhibition at the Worlds Museum Liverpool. The exhibition itself was really good for any doctor who fans. They had loads of characters and costumes from the show, as well as some larger items such as one of the interiors from the TARDIS which was one of the first things that you saw. You could even record your voice as a Dalek and stand inside one - I managed to transfer ok from my wheelchair ok to do this. The museum was really accessible. There were loads of disabled parking spots immediately outside the entrance, ramp and step free access everywhere (including wheelchair lifts in some areas), and good disabled toilets everywhere (including at the entrance to the exhibition). We also got a free career/ companion ticket to the exhibition. The only downside was the main lifts between floors - the museum is spread over several floors and only one lift was working on our visit. This wouldn’t have been a major problem, was it not for the fact that a large number of people who didn’t need lift access were using it rather than walk down a few steps. We were queuing for ages at one stage, which wasn’t the best. However, this didn’t detract from a great day out and a really good museum.
