Overall Rating
Good
Located at an A75 service station, this hub is hidden behind the service buildings. On the positive side, the location features a view including grazing sheep. We used a Tesla device at this location.
Disabled Access In and Around
The charging spaces are not designated or marked as accessible bays for disabled drivers, and none meet PAS 1899 standards. The bay layout width is 260 cm, which includes a 10 cm extra side square. A 1200 mm clearance is maintained between the charger and the vehicle socket point, and components sit within a 220 mm reach. Low-level obstacles are minimal, consisting of a very low-level kerb rather than obstructing bollards.
Parking & Transport
I travelled to this place by personal vehicle
There are 12 bays at this location operated by Tesla. On entry, a sign confirms that all EV brands can use the station. Our battery was at 54% when we arrived and reached 100% over 50 minutes, costing a total of £15.47. We paid on the app, as the station accepts app payment options exclusively. Cards, RFID and QR code options are entirely unavailable directly on the hardware, as it does not have an integrated display screen. The charger unit does not list its charging speed on the hardware. All session tracking and operations are viewed exclusively via smartphone. The cable management was insufficient, and the cable was not long enough for a flexible range of parking positions. The connector handle weighs 2.8 kg and was easy to use.
Accessible facilities: Electric Vehicle Charging
Accessible Toilets
There are no public facilities right next to the chargers, but the main complex buildings are less than 50 metres away. Overall accessibility to the facilities is decent, but there is a major structural barrier: the standard disabled car parking bays and the EV chargers are located at the bottom of a flight of stairs with no obvious lift access. Wheelchair users are required to call for assistance at the building doors to gain entry.
Additional Information
There is no help point at the stalls. While our visit was conducted during the daytime, overhead lighting is present for night use. During our stop, we met a fellow motorist who had owned a Tesla for seven years and is very happy with it, he also completed an EV project.
