This charging hub is located within a motorway rest area. The location felt safe, but it is purely a picnic stop. There is no neighbouring fuel station, so there is no staff and low foot traffic. It is a beautiful rest stop with picnic benches available immediately behind the stations. We used an Allego device at this location.
Disabled Access In and Around
There are 4 bays dedicated and signed for disabled drivers, but the actual floor markings and spaces are identical to standard bays. The spaces measure 3.3 m wide, which means they are not wide enough for a PAS 1899 standard disabled bay (which requires a 4 m width). They are reserved for disabled drivers but lack proper boundary markings. There are some obstacles present such as bollards and kerbs but the bollards are well-placed and do not obstruct the chargers. There is a dropped kerb with a small 1.5 cm lip. Despite this, there is plenty of clearance space. The charger components are easy to view, reach and operate. The plug handle sits between 800 mm and 950 mm, and the bottom of the payment terminal is positioned between 800 mm and 1000 mm from the ground. The interface screen is fully readable from both standing and seated positions.

There are 10 bays in total at this location, and 1 of them was occupied by another driver when we arrived. The chargers are run by Allego and are noted as high-power 300 kW units. At the start of the session our battery was at 61% and reached 80% within 14 minutes. We paid by card, and the station features an accessible interface that is easy to use in multiple languages, including English, French, Spanish and German. The charger has its own cable and connector, with plenty of length to accommodate a range of parking positions and effective cable management. The cable connector weighs 4.8 kg but was easy to use.

A customer assistance phone number (+33 (0)186650833) is clearly provided on the unit, and there is sufficient lighting across the site. There is also some shelter over each of the charging stations.
