Perfect pasta, tiny toilet

This was a really lovely spot for dinner. They had indoor and outdoor seating available. As I approached the main entrance, a member of staff at the host stand came and opened the door for me and then asked me where I would be most comfortable sitting, which I really appreciated. The tables were all standard dining table height and the chairs were all moveable from what I could see. The staff were really prompt and took my order for me and I was served really quickly and the food was lovely. I was able to pay via a QR code when I was ready which I found really handy. There was a very small accessible toilet at the back of the restaurant.

Disabled Access In and Around

The main entrance had a single door which wasn’t automated at all but a staff member was super quick to come and open it for me as I approached it and they were happy to help when I was leaving as well. The tables and chairs were all a good height and the chairs could be moved around and one was moved to make space for me and my chair. The menu was available as a physical menu but there did seem to be an option to look at it on your phone via a QR code as well. When I visited it was very quiet inside the restaurant, this meant that the noise levels were really balanced with no overwhelming noises while I was there. But this may change at busier times. The lighting was also quite soft and warm for the most part. I sat close to a window so I also got a lot of natural light during my meal.

There is no dedicated parking but there are some public car parks in the nearby area. It’s also located close to the Royal Centre tram stop and there are bus stops nearby.

Accessible Toilets

Poor

There was an accessible toilet available to use at the back of the restaurant. However, it was really tiny and I really struggled to get into it and I have quite a small, manual wheelchair. A powerchair would definitely not fit inside it, let alone an extra person. The door also opened inward which was another reason that made it very tricky to manage the space inside and getting in and out. There were grab rails around the toilet, including one that could be raised and lowered. It had a small, circular flush button on top and in the middle of the cistern behind the toilet. There was a tiny bit of space for a left-side transfer, but there were bins obstructing it because of the limited space. In front of the toilet was a small sink with a single tap in the centre. The tap was manually operated and had a lever handle which seemed like it could be operated with a fist or elbow. The tap twisted to control the temperature of the water and lifted to control the flow. There was a small mirror above the sink but it was too high to see from a seated position. There was also a baby-change table alongside the toilet. The red emergency cord had been tucked into a grab rail next to the toilet but it would have still triggered the alarm if pulled. I did ensure to untuck it and attach a Red Cord Card before leaving though.

The staff were super lovely during my visit and really helpful. They helped with the door without me having to ask and gave me a choice of where I was most comfortable sitting as well.
