Berwick Library is a local library in the town centre, with books to borrow, public computers and free Wi-Fi. It also doubles up as a Visitor Information Centre, so you can pick up information about local attractions and things to do while you're in town.

There are automatic doors at the entrance to the building. As you enter, you'll see the lift just ahead and steps up to the library on the right. The steps have clearly marked edges and rails on either side. The lifts have tactile buttons, are wide enough for most mobility aids and have a rail and a mirror for reversing. The entrance to the library is on the first floor, where there is another set of automatic doors. The library is spacious, with loads of room for me to get around in my wheelchair, which is always appreciated. The front counter has a lowered section and a hearing loop. There is a computer suite, desks for reading or studying and seats throughout the venue. With regular clubs for both adults and children, this is a real community hub.

Accessible facilities: Lift to some areas, Step-free entrance, Seating at regular intervals

    Parking & Transport

    Good

I travelled to this place by personal vehicle

There is a small car park at the library with four full-size bays, which have hatched markings on either side. I actually parked across the street from the car park, as there were EV chargers nearby, although access to them was challenging. There is a bus stop close to the library.

    Accessible facilities: Dedicated on-site parking

    Accessible Toilets

There are no toilets at this venue.
