Overview

I visited the zoo with my son who uses a wheelchair, 2 adults and a 5 year old. On paying we received a generous discount for my son and carer. Once inside the zoo we enjoyed exploring and reading about the different animals. The sea lion show was fab and I was pleased to see that the front row really was for wheelchair users and people were asked to remove buggys. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful answering our questions in detail and with real enthusiasm. We had a lovely day.

Transport & Parking

We parked in the zoos car park. Disabled do have to pay for parking but that was ok as the money helps to support the animals.

The sea lion trainer was great explaining that they don't perform if they don't want to its their choice which was reassuring. Also one of the keepers that we asked about penguins spent time explaining how they swim so fast.
