We stayed here on a family holiday with my adult daughter who uses a large powered wheelchair. The cottage was spacious and well equipped. We brought all of our own specialist equipment but the owner was extremely helpful and could offer a wheeled shower chair if required. All rooms and outside spaces were accessible, including the games room in the garage. Two of the large bedrooms were en suite with level access shower cubicles. The two twin bedrooms had a family bathroom with a bath and wetroom style shower between them. The kitchen and lounge were spacious, with plenty of seating. There was a washer and dryer available. Logs, bbq and equipment and well organised recycling bins. Although the location of the cottage was rural it was only a short drive to a pub in Culross (beautiful medieval village) or takeaways in Oakley. There were loads of things to do in the area: The Falkirk Wheel, The Kelpies, Edinburgh (1 hr away), Stirling, Bannockburn, The Fife coast, Anstruther Fisheries Museum was great but also over an hour away! Maggie was super helpful and her pancake mix (in the bookable breakfast hamper) was delicious. We wouldn't hesitate to come back..

    Disabled Access In and Around

Access to the front door was via a wooden decked ramp (or 3 steps) to a level threshold. The rest of the house is on one level except the games room in the garage, this could be reached via two big steps from the house or a level door from outside.

    Parking & Transport

    Good

Loads of parking, although Bramble Brae is reached via an off road track which may be tricky for very low vehicles. Our wheelchair van managed fine though. The cottage is rural but did have cards for an accessible taxi company.

Maggie, the owner was extremely helpful and accommodating. We arrived to a fabulous homemade spongecake.
