In rural Aberdeenshire, just past the Peel of Lumphannan, up the hill from Macbeth's well, is a beautiful countryside escape with level access. Brand new accommodation in rural Aberdeenshire with execllent countryside views. Gravel drive for drop off beside pathed path onto covered wooden deck area with dining table and outdoor hot and cold shower. There is a cold plunge and fire pit. Outdoor sauna with 600mm door. Main entrance is 810mm wide double glazed door into very spacious living room kitchen area with 720mm clearance height dining table with plenty of space for wheelchairs. Dining table is well lit. There is a log burner with slate hearth. The kitchen island has worktop overhang with 850mm clearance allowing wheelchair users to sit here to eat too. There is 900mm width clearance between kitchen units allowing wheelchair to move through kitchen easily. Drawers instead of cupboards allow easy access to snacks. Chaise lounge in picture window is springy and comfortable although it can be easily moved out of the way if a wheelcahor user wanted that spot. And you would. The scenery is to die for. Kitchen appliances are not lowered and wheelchair users may struggle to reach the tap, oven or fridge. The lounge area has wide deep sofas with sofa bed. Free standing shelf unit with shelves at various heights. Boardgames and books provided. Bedroom is spacious and there is clearance under the bed for wheels of a Mobile hoist or stand aid. Four poster bed may restrict the height of equipment though. Sockets are good heights above bedside tables on either side of the bed and have usb charging points too. Hairdryer provided. If you let them know you wjen booking that you have a disability they will make sure it is brought down to an accessible height before your stay. Bathroom can be accessed from bedroom or hall. Doors are easy to open, not heavy and were wide enough for my wheelchair to fit through easily. There is a bath, a walk in shower with fold down seat, WC and basin with drawers below it. Some wheelchair users may struggle with this. Toilet roll holder is grab rail but there are no other grab rails beside the toilet. Distance between showerscreen and sink unit is 740mm which is the maximum width you have to access the toilet. Would maybe be better suited to those who can be assisted to transfer or weight bare to transfer. Deep bath with hand held shower allows views across the countryside when door to bedroom is left open. This place has to be seen to be believed. The hosts live in the main house next door but are in no way watching over you. The cottage feels completely isolated. The stunning views across the fields are outstanding. This would make such a beautiful romantic getaway with the log burner it is perfect for cozy autumn nights in and in summer (or anytime if you're brave enough!) you can take advantage of the outdoor sauna, cold plunge, firepit and hot and cold outdoor shower or alfresco dining. In my experience of access audits I would class this as wheelchair accessible with assistance, not necessarily independent use, depending on individual circumstances. There are definitely not enough romantic settings for wheelchair users, this is one I highly recommend booking
