Ye Olde Mitre

The Mitre was first built in 1546, and extended after a fire in 1781. It’s in a very small alley between Hatton Garden and Ely Place (think of Harry Potter's wand shop and that’s what it looks like). The pub is very old fashioned in the sense that there are no TVs or music, just real ales and snacks – 'English tapas' if you like – pork pies, Scotch eggs, toasted cheese or ham sandwiches, sausage rolls, pickled eggs and gherkins and no chips.
