The Mitre was first built in 1546, and extended after a fire in 1781. It’s in a very small alley between Hatton Garden and Ely Place (think of Harry Potter's wand shop and that’s what it looks like). The pub is very old fashioned in the sense that there are no TVs or music, just real ales and snacks – 'English tapas' if you like – pork pies, Scotch eggs, toasted cheese or ham sandwiches, sausage rolls, pickled eggs and gherkins and no chips. Prices are on our web-site. The Mitre has been in a lot of movies and television shows, such as Snatch and Deep Blue Sea for example. You can see what beers are on weekly via our web-site. There’s lots round here to see: the oldest Catholic Church in UK is 5metres away and a Wren church too, The Old Bailey, St Paul's Cathedral, Smithfield Market area and Hatton Garden are all close by.
