Excellent
The Castle Isle Restaurant is part of the Rosneath Castle Caravan Park, but it welcomes non residents. The park is in a lovely position on the Rosneath Peninsula, overlooking the Gare Loch.
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
The entrance is level and the inside spacious. The outer door was propped open and the inner door opened outwards which was a bit awkward with the wheelchair, but someone rushed to help us. The outside seating is on gravel so is not very accessible.
Parking & Transport
Excellent
There is a large, flat tarmac area outside the restaurant, although this is not marked for parking so I'm not sure if you are meant to park there. There are several marked parking spaces outside the shop which is close by. The one blue badge space is near the shop entrance, rather than closer to the restaurant. However, it is very little distance from there to the restaurant for those able to walk and easy to push a chair because of the tarmac.
Accessible Toilets
Good
There was plenty of space for a wheelchair and assistant. A drop down grab rail and one attached to the wall are very helpful.
Staff
Excellent
Extremely pleasant.
Additional Information
There is a one way system, using the fire door as an exit. This is also level and paved to make wheelchair or rollator use easy. The toilets have a separate entrance and exit and there are markings on the floor of the restaurant to help with distancing. The restaurant is clean and airy. The fish and chips were very good. The last photograph is the view from just outside.
