In all the years I've been visiting Braehead, I've never accessed the Changing Places toilet. Yesterday, that changed. I'll say that it has the features required for a Changing Places toilet, but it may be challenging for some people to use due to the limited space. Please note, my review reflects the practical elements of the space, not the staff or equipment.

    Parking & Transport

I travelled to this place by personal vehicle

The shopping centre has multiple car parks, including a multi-storey. EV chargers are available, but they are far from accessible. Braehead bus station is just outside and offers handy links to and from the city.

    Accessible Toilets

Accessing the toilet requires picking up the handset on the wall. Staff will respond and send a member of the team to allow you access. To their credit, they were along in less than a minute, but having to hail someone to use the loo isn't my favourite approach. In many cases, this is a measure put in place to combat abuse, which I think is the case here. Inside, it's pretty compact, with the changing bed right ahead and the portable hoist immediately on the right. The hoist is stored in the right-side transfer space, which obstructs the area, though there are other accessible toilets on the floor, one next door, in fact. There is a sink to the left of the toilet pan. It has a small basin with a lever-style tap. There are white rails on either side of the toilet pan and to the right of the sink. The rails contrast adequately against the rest of the room, but the toilet seat does not contrast against the pan. The room is a wee bit dated, but it is clean.
