A Tale of Two Toilets

Overview
Great "Changing Places" Facility... unless you actually want the toilet! The Changing Places toilet, at the car park side of the building, is large, has an adult changing table and hoist and, for that aspect, seems great. However, the toilet itself only has one, quite unsteady, drop-down rail which made it completely unusable. There was absolutely no way I could have safely transferred independently from my wheelchair. How the local council can get away with saying this is an accessible toilet beggars belief. I also have to agree with the previous reviewer in that the door and access are dangerously close to a set of completely unnecessary steps (the Gents toilets are at the other end of the ramp and more easily accessed at that end). However, fortunately, at the other end of the toilet block, hidden away and not well signposted, is another accessible toilet which is much better. It's smaller and doesn't have a changing table, but it's large enough for a wheelchair user to manoeuvre and has the full set of grab rails. It's best to think of these as separate Changing Places and Accessible Toilet facilities, as neither covers both needs.
