Beautiful but challenging

The views in this public park are certainly beautiful. Along the route there are benches and wooden carvings of different animals, some real, some mythological.

Disabled Access In and Around

Poor

The layout makes it difficult to navigate, particularly if you're a wheelchair user and especially if you're alone. There's a steep walkway winding down to the River Tweed, and if I didn't have a power attachment, I wouldn't have been able to get back up. Where there are stairs, they have tactile markings and a rail, but there are wholly step-free routes throughout the park. Some benches are provided, but the bench with the rain shelter has a step up. The gate also poses some difficulty, as you need to reach through it to lift the handle. The gate opens outwards at the top, but towards you as you're leaving. I needed to ask someone to open and hold the gate for me in both instances.
