Disabled Access In and Around

It is level access into Costa Coffee, although it is not an automatic door to enter the building. There is a button to press though outside the door to alert staff if you need assistance opening the door to enter. Inside the tables don’t have a lot of space between them, you can see what I mean in one of the photos included in this review. We sat at a table next to the door of the toilets, when I was right up to the table I wasn’t in the way of the door opening. All tables were at a perfect height for wheelchair users. When ordering food it is easy to see what food there is on offer, but it may be difficult for some wheelchair users to reach things. I also feel the card machine may be difficult for wheelchair users to reach as well, but I can imagine the staff would be more than welcome to help customers.

I travelled to this place by personal vehicle
There are 2 disabled parking spaces beside the Costa Coffee building so, there is a very short distance walk to the entrance of Costa Coffee. I didn’t notice any EV charging ports at Costa Coffee, but I do know there is one at Greggs which is right next door. With Costa Coffee being in a busy retail park, there are lots of busses passing through.

I would say the disabled toilet in Costa Coffee is a little small, but I would say there is enough space for a wheelchair user to get help from someone else. If the bin wasn’t at the right-hand side of the toilet, then a wheelchair user who is a right-hand transfer would be able to transfer easily. I’d say the mirror above the sink is quite high for a wheelchair user, but there is a tall mirror at the side of the toilet. There is no Changing Places toilet in Costa Coffee, but there is one in Home Bargains which is right across the road. We visited near the end of the day so, the disabled toilet wasn’t the cleanest. I’m not sure how often the toilets get cleaned.
