Overview
A visit to Coventry Cathedral; this comprised seeing the mediaeval cathedral that was bombed in WW2 and the modern (1950/60) cathedral.
Transport & Parking
There is a fantastic accessibility map on the website, which states parking options. For a visitor to the city these seem almost impossible to get to.
Access
Level access or ramped routes to most areas. More ramps in the new cathedral could have made the experience even better.
Toilets
Fantastic, spacious loo.
Staff
They were brilliant.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Thanks to the Luftwaffe and Britain’s post-war reconstruction budget, the city of Coventry was never going to emerge as the belle of the ball. Despite this, there are some jewels, including half timbered buildings and the cathedral. The latter is incredibly moving, and a poignant reminder of the futility of war.
