Disabled Access In and Around

Only one 'disabled' room offered (room 6) A very big room with separate sofa area so plants of room to manoeuvre. Bathroom had bath and shower but no grab handles anywhere and a shower with a 6 inch step. Toilet in small room with no rails again, no room to transfer and a very low seat. Access within the hotel is awful. Corridor from room 6 to reception has 4 steps, corridor from reception to bar has 3 steps and corridor to restaurant has more steps. Ramps offered but the steps are very steep and the incline makes using them very difficult. Doors are also very heavy. Almost impossible to manoeuvre anywhere alone in the hotel I would say. Alternative way offered to the bar but you have to go across the cobblestones outside which obviously isn't ideal in inclement weather and you still have to cope with steps down to the restaurant . Spa has a ramp round to the entrance but then has a step into the building.

Loo in room too small to transfer, no grab rails anywhere. Couldn't find accessible loo in main building, too many steps.

Good
Bar staff and waiting staff excellent, especially our waiter Jack. Front of house staff indifferent to problems with access, not interested in helping.
Additional Information
Would not visit again. Phoned prior to booking to check wheelchair access, was told that access was fine. On arrival, discovered that access was anything but fine. In fact, it was very difficult and I would say, impossible to access as a solo wheelchair user, help was required at every turn. When complaints were made, front of house staff/duty manager indifferent. Emailed complaint to general manager when we returned home, he was also totally uninterested. Very disappointed with the whole experience. Would NEVER book there again!
