Skateboard Exhibition - One of the best experiences I've had since becoming disabled!

The Tony Hawk games were a huge part of my childhood and it's safe to say I'd have never become a musician if not for them so a visit to the Skateboard exhibition was a must. The staff were extremely helpful at the museum and it was extremely easy to get around. The highlight was one of the staff members saying I could go around the mini skate park in my powerchair which was incredible. It made me think about skating now I'm disabled and I discovered the world of adaptive skaters and was motivated to get involved. A huge shout out the staff in the cafe and shop who were also super helpful and it was fun to reminisce about retro gaming. The visit to the exhibition was just what I needed to lift my mood about my disability and I can't thank everyone there enough for all their help.

Stanley Kubrick exhibtion - Excellent step free access, helpful staff and impressive accessible toilet but a few area for improvement

This is a review of the Stanley Kubrick exhibition which is on until 15 September 2019. On this visit I only visited the Kubrick exhibition but there is lots to see on other floors which are accessible by lift. The Design Museum relocated to its current building in 2016. It's housed in the re-furbished Commonwealth Institute building, which I'm old enough to remember, and the museum has excellent access. My overall visit was extremely positive, as generally access was easy and the exhibition was amazing. However I did speak to staff about access and that is why this review is quite detailed about the small things that could be improved on.

    Wheelchair Hire from friendly staff

The museum was very modern and easy to navigate. Even the disabled access toilets had automatic door buttons and the lift was a good size. I borrowed a manual wheelchair as I need to manage my pain, energy and exercise through each day. I enjoyed the Stanley Kubrick exhibition and the free exhibitions. There were many things to see and easy to access displays.
