Overview

James Bond has a lot to answer for. It wasn't that long ago that there was a free car park and you could just wander over to the castle. Now it's nothing but a tourist trap with a paid car park, complete with disinterested marshals, which was absolutely full of coaches and tourists. There was no signposting for disabled spaces, and, after driving round it twice, concluded that there were none and decided just to leave. There are plenty of places off-site to stop and get some lovely photo opportunities. What used to be a nice, quiet, picturesque stop on a drive past is now just yet another horrendous tourist trap and I have to sadly recommend it be avoided.

Transport & Parking

A massive, convoluted, confusing car park. We literally drove round it twice and couldn't find any disabled spaces. Marshals were disinterested in helping.
