Located at the Tarbert Ferry Terminal, this charging unit would be a little more helpful if it were actually accessible. Unfortunately, it fails in that regard, as not only is the unit mounted on a plinth, but it is also positioned on the kerb and set back from the two charging bays, making it nearly impossible for wheelchair or powerchair users, or those with limited walking range, to use.

The pavement on which the unit is situated is smooth, recently tarmacked and easy to move across with a mobility aid, but that is about its only positive feature. The charging cables are difficult to reach from a seated height, and the AC charger on the side of the unit, which requires users to provide their own cable, is even more difficult to access. The card reader is also elevated because of the plinth, making me wonder why this design was ever approved.

I travelled to this place by personal vehicle
Both bays are no wider than a standard parking space, potentially causing users to become blocked in should another person arrive to charge their car, which is very likely at a ferry terminal. The unit provides 50 kW CCS and CHAdeMO charging, along with 22 kW Type 2 charging.

Accessible Toilets
There is a Changing Places toilet and a standard accessible toilet inside the ferry terminal, both of which are in good condition.
