The site of Scotsmen alighting from an aircraft in Kilts and glengarry’s is probably enough to cause a wee bit of a stir, the Lufthansa staff on the flight were well entertained, and this continued into the airport. My sunflower lanyard and symbol cane were instantly recognised by the staff and were proceeded very quickly through the next set of controls and given clear directions for our connecting flight to Vienna, Munich is a large airport and busy, it was spacious with mobility transport if needed, all lifts and a escalators. A small tram took us to the next terminal and again boarding on this was with all the transports had no steps involved. Transit on to and from the aircraft were via connecting causeway. There were considerable outlets for foods, drinks with ample seating and space for wheelchairs and well signed and directions to toilets that were large, spacious and fully equipped.

Disabled Access In and Around

Munich is a very Disabled friendly and welcoming airport, but it’s very large though easy to get around, well signed, plentifully staffed with those who recognised and responded to disability, we wereescorted and fast tracked through to the next gate and onto the the aircraft wheretheAustrian Airline staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming.

Parking & Transport

From aircraft to terminal no issues, lengthy but moving walkways, small trams to terminalsall on on one deck level.

Accessible Toilets

Did not use the loos but there was ample and clear signage with directions.

Staff

Could not fault the staff, they had the observational skill, training and awareness to recognise the symbol cane.

Additional Information

For a big airport, there were really lovely little touches and a welcome that was really appreciated, a kilt is a good ice breaker, but we are internationally known for our good demeanour and behaviour.
