Overall Rating
Excellent
Glen Dye is a beautiful estate in the Cairngorm Mountains, about an hour’s drive north from Dundee. The Corner House is one of a small group of beautifully designed cottages, adapted to be very accessible for a wheelchair user and/or anyone with limited mobility.
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
Step free access to and inside The Corner House, where we stayed. Hard floor with flat rugs throughout, so no problem trying to wheel across a spongy carpet. Doors are wide enough for a manual wheelchair and the interior space is open and generous - no narrow hallways, tight corners or endless doors to navigate.
Accessible facilities: Step-free entrance, Single-level venue, Seating at regular intervals, Step-free access to most areas
Parking & Transport
I travelled to this place by personal vehicle
You really a car to get to Glen Dye. It’s very easy to find and there’s plenty of parking for guests, Drop off at the front door of the cottage is no problem and the staff are extremely helpful if you need extra help.
Accessible facilities: Electric Vehicle Charging, Dedicated on-site parking, Drop-off or pick up point
Accessible Toilets
Excellent
Excellent wc and shower room. Grab bars and drop-down seat in shower. Grab bars around we, which is a good height.
Facilities: Accessible toilet
Staff
Excellent
Very helpful indeed. The ethos of Glen Dye is to make sure people staying here feel comfortable and relaxed, so they can enjoy the beautiful setting.
Additional Information
Good design should be universal; and inclusive - and I think that Glen Dye makes a big effort to provide that. The Corner House sleeps 6, so it would be a very good option for a group or family with a combination of needs.
