Overview

Lovely restaurant that has just been extended. Fully wheelchair accessible, all on one level. A fantastic store with high quality home decor, homeware, gifts, food, and plants. Wheelchairs to borrow at the entrance.

Transport & Parking

3

It doesn’t appear there is a bus stop or train station nearby. There are only about 5 disabled bays in this very busy car park. The car park ground is quite bumpy and uneven.

Access

4

Entrance through double doors- not automatic. It is sometimes difficult to get through displays and my carer/ staff need to move things so I can get through into displays of home decor or gifts. The outside area has good accessibility and space to move. There are disabled toilets in both the shop and restaurant now

Toilets

3.5

The toilet in the restaurant was easy to get in and out of, it was a good size and big enough to manoeuvre and for two people. It has grab rails and a red cord. However there was not space at the side to transfer as there was a large nappy bin at the side of the toilet. The disabled toilet in the shop is quite small, there is not space for me to turn in my chair or line my chair up next to the toilet. There are grab rails.

Staff

3.5

The staff tend to be friendly, there are tils when you enter that are not overly busy in the week. The restaurant staff are friendly and helpful

Anything else you wish to tell us?

This is an accessible store and well worth a visit, it is easy to get around in however improvements could be made to the restaurant so tables are not so close together, same with displays where there the ‘entry’ in is too small for a wheelchair. I’m always scared of breaking something going into these sections to look at items. It could also benefit from more marked disabled parking bays

Photos

New cafe extension with new toilets The conservatory in the cafe, my favourite spot to sit First doors tend to be kept open during opening hours, second doors are not automatic. You can see here the disabled bays are at the left Toilet in the restaurant
