Disastrous car park

We went to the mountain bike part of the country park to see the replica iron age roundhouse. They have a massive car park with a few tarmacadam disabled bays. Unfortunately these abut the deep shingle of the car park. As soon a the wheelchair came down the ramp from the car we were stuck and even with the winch struggled to get back into the car. We did drive across the car park to get near the roundhouse which is not on the shingle but the entrance gate was rather narrow and muddy so did not get out of the car. Very disappointing as you have to pay a minimum fee of £1.50 to park for one hour. Could not get across car park to access anything else but could see a small childrens play area.

0Car park is very large and deep shingle. No free parking for the disabled. The site is at the end of a road so you would have to walk about half a mile back to the main road for a bus.

We asked where the roundhouse was and they said you don't want to drag a wheelchair all across the car park. I couldn't! They suggested I drove over to it as it is on the exit route. This area was shingle free.
Additional Information
I visited this venue in the past before they added the Olympic Mountain bike track. The car park then was just mud and a small amount of gravel which was manageable. There is a site further along at Castle Lane where the Salavation Army run tea rooms and this is accessible with a reasonable, pay to park car park although the Castle itself is down a rough track.
