Overall Rating
Good
Haymarket Metro is a busy station right in the city centre, with step-free access to the platforms via lifts. There are accessible ticket gates and plenty of space around the station, although it can get pretty busy at peak times. The tram-style level boarding makes getting on and off the Metro straightforward. This stop is ideal for those doing a bit of shopping, or going underground to Newcastle Railway Station.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
Access is consistent with other underground stops in the area, with a lift, large enough for a power chair user. The lift has a braille panel beside the call buttons, and a hearing loop. Steps with rails and tactile markings, and escalators are also available. The platform has fold down benches and overhead signage. The edges have tactile markings and yellow lines.
Accessible facilities: Lift to all areas, Seating at regular intervals, Step-free entrance, Step-free access to most areas
