Great staff, disappointing venue
If you have a wider than average wheelchair, you’ll have trouble getting into the lift and through the bedroom doors. If you book an accessible bedroom, you will be given a king size bed that consists of two single beds pushed together, with the inevitable dip where they join (I don’t think there can be anything more disappointing than that after a long tiring journey). If you want room service, it’s only available when the restaurant is open from 5 pm. The menu is very limited and the staff had to go to the local supermarket to buy what we ordered. They are very aware that this is less than ideal and have complained to management but nothing changes. I would not advise sitting on the little couches at the end of the bed if you’re disabled, as the one in my bedroom was very soft and very difficult to get up out of. The bedroom doors are very heavy, but I suppose that’s to be expected. My bedroom was stale and needed to be aired. The downie was too small for two people and too small for its cover so there was about a foot of empty downie cover flapping about. The discomfort I had in the hotel due to all these things made my weekend extremely difficult. I will not be booking this hotel again. In future, I will ask for measurements of the doors and the lifts to make sure I can get my chair into them, if I ever leave home again, that is!
