Good
Able to book a guaranteed disabled accessible room online. Hotel very close to motorway M6 junction 13, so easy to find.
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
Step free access. We were in a room on 2nd floor, lift available. The room was not particularly close to the lift, and the distance could be a problem for someone relying on a rollator or sticks only. I was in a wheelchair, with able bodied husband, so not a problem. There was one set of fire-doors in the corridor, which were normally open, but on one occasion closed - needed an able bodied person to open the door. The room was large enough to easily get around in a wide wheelchair. Bathroom fully accessible, with seat in shower, and grab-rails
Parking & Transport
Good
There are a number of disabled blue badge parks directly outside the main entrance, but most are ordinary width, so difficult to get in and out of car. However, the car park is massive, and we were always able to park close to the entrance straddling two normal bays, so able to get easily into the wheelchair from the car.
Accessible Toilets
Excellent
Toilet in room had sufficient grab rails. Was a little lower than I am used to, but I was able to use it without problems. There was a disabled toilet in the public area, but I did not use it.
Staff
Excellent
On arrival, we were informed that our room was on 2nd floor, but the lift was pointed out. They asked (without prompting) if I required help in the event of a fire-alarm, and when I said yes, added a note to our booking and promised to send help if required.
Additional Information
Very convenient for a conference I was attending in Yarnsfield. The hotel has no restaurant for evening meals, but within wheelchair pushing distance there is a very good Chinese restaurant (see review), and a pub (not visited). The hotel breakfast is included with the room - not great.
