Good accessibility and a fun night out

This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Powerchair

Overview

This nightclub has 5 floors and each 1 is accessible by a lift. You need a key card to use the lift which you can get from the bouncers. This is the only slightly annoying thing about the lift is that when you want to use it you have to go and find one of the bouncers to get the card. They are not always around. On the ground floor is the bar area with some tables and chairs scattered around. Each floor can get very busy on weekend nights. So it can be a bit tricky navigating around people without running their feet over. Each floor has different type of music. This ranges from cheesy 60s/70s/80s tunes, to hip-hop and drum and bass. The bouncers are friendly and helpful.

Transport & Parking

There are a couple of on-street disabled parking spaces around the corner but they are usually occupied. So I usually park on a different Street nearby and walk. Home is just off the high Street so it's a good central position.

Access

4.5

The front entrance has a little bit of a lip to get up a curb but it is pretty easy to do it in my powerchair with a bit of Run up. All floors are level access and accessible by a lift. You need a key card to use the lift which you can get from the bouncers. It's good that they have a key card because it stops able-bodied people from using the lift. In the club rooms it can get very crowded on club nights so I tend to just sit in one place. It's difficult to drive through the crowds without running over someone. They also tend to do flashing strobe lights a lot so if anybody has epilepsy it's probably not advisable to go there.

Toilets

4

There are 2 disabled toilets. One on the 3rd floor and one on the 5th floor. The one on the 3rd floor you have to go through a door first which makes it a bit trickier to get to. So go to the one on the 5th floor which you don't have to go through any doors to get to.

Staff

4.5

The bouncers and staff are all friendly and helpful. They let me hold onto the key card for the lift for the night so that I don't have to keep going and finding them, which is helpful.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Home also served food during the day so you can go there for lunch if you want. It's also much quieter during the day so you can avoid the crowds.
