Overall Rating
Good
Visiting Southern Ireland , went for a run to Hook’s Head Lighthouse at the southern most tip. Lovely day out, could not go into the lighthouse however there were beautiful views out to sea & the cafe was great. It is one of the oldest working lighthouses in the world
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
The cafe & gift shop area was all level access & easily manageable in a wheelchair.
Accessible facilities: Step-free entrance, Seating at regular intervals, Step-free access to most areas
Parking & Transport
Excellent
I travelled to this place by personal vehicle
There were dedicated 2 disabled parking spaces (I think) just outside the fenced off area around the lighthouse & the cafe & toilets. The car park is tarmac with level access into the cafe etc. It is free parking. Unfortunately I could not see around the lighthouse due to the steps involved but I had not been expecting to do that so wasn’t disappointed
Accessible facilities: Dedicated on-site parking
Accessible Toilets
Good
The accessible toilet was clean, plenty of room for a wheelchair & had handrails and a red emergency cord.
Facilities: Accessible toilet
Staff
Excellent
All staff we met were very helpful, friendly & cheerful.
