The Hotel Barcelona Catedral is aptly named as it's a stone's throw from the Cathedral. The staff were so helpful and friendly. I'd hired a mobility scooter and I charged it overnight in the hotel reception area. The staff looked after the charger in the daytime. The breakfasts were superb and if you're a morning eater you could have eaten enough to fuel you all day. The lifts are fine for wheelchairs and quick to arrive. Although I have awarded five stars for the hotel, the disabled rooms are not quite what I hoped for. On Booking.com the room claimed to have a lower level sink and a higher level toilet. In fact the toilet was extremely low with grab handles that were too high for me to use easily, and the sink is high. The double bed is comfortable but with an ottoman at the end of it, a manual wheelchair can just about squeeze through. The shower is spacious and has a grab handle but no seat.

There's easy access to the hotel and I hired a mobility scooter.

The staff were exceptional: friendly and very helpful. They looked after the scooter charger when it wasn't in use and allowed me to park the scooter in the main reception area near a plug point.
