Overview

Great location for those with mobility issues as its right on the slopes, 100m from the cable car pLeney lifts right in the middle of the action. All the main reception, bar, lounge and restaurant are accessible (and the food is fabulous),. There's a properly Accessible lift and 3 large accessible bedrooms each with shower and toilet, and ante room with two bunks if you are bringing the kids. It's doesn't get five stars because the access in and out of the hotel is very steep and difficult to tackle independently which is a great shame . Also the lovely heated pool is currently inaccessible- although the spa (with warm jet pool, sauna and steam room, open 4-8pm) has flat access it has no rails for pool access I think you could manage with help. Once inside the hotel you can see straight out onto the pistes, the sledging hill and the pLeney lifts from the lounge area which is great. The cable car is accessible although once at the top options are limited.

Transport & Parking

3

There is covered underground parking with the hotel. Ramp taxis wold not be that easy to find, however the buses are accessible which greatly increases your options.

Access

3

The ramp outside the hotel is steep, so assistance required. They have helpfully put in a low gradient ramp for luggage but it's too narrow for wheelchairs which is frustrating! Access inside hotel is good.

Toilets

3

As a resident your best option is to return to your room to use the toilet. Toilets in the public area are accessible by lift but there is a heavy door and the cubicles are a bit small for manoevering once inside.

Staff

The hotel is family run and the staff and really friendly and can't do enough to help. They have made a conscious choice to build accessible accomadation this year and are keen to make it work for everyone. Assistance dogs are welcome too.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I was repeatedly told by the tour operator that this hotel was not accessible, but it certainly is, I think it'll take a bit of time for the websites to catch up with the hotels newly developed accessible rooms. Disability skiing is available though the ESF ski school, so you can ski form the doorstep. It's expensive but if you feel the need for speed it's a great experience . You can then also ski with your family and friends - it's lovely to join in!
