Overview

This hotel is very clean the staff are very friendly the customer relations manager is very approachable, the entertainment team are good most of the time with exception to following the program at night, the evening shows only have a 7 day program so when you have been here 2 weeks like we was the evenings become very boring, the food is ok nothing spectacular, if it wasn’t for the beach bar and the allocate restaurants , I feel the food would have been very repetitive, some things are very hit and miss, I did find some things undercooked, which I avoided afterwards, the drinks are of very poor quality they are also very inconsistent this includes coffee, the waiters are also inconsistent you could tell when there was a manager present , one bar man refused to serve my wife told her to sit down even though there were people sat at the bar being served, the grounds are well maintained, the staff tirelessly clean everywhere, the beach requires some attention I feel this would benefit from a designated smoking area which would limit the area where you find cigarette ends which would make cleaning it easier, it would also benefit the people who do not smoke and find it annoying with people who smoke sitting near them, I found snorkelling from the beach very disappointing I’m am very limited in what I can do but the little I did do I find beer tins, bottles, plastic bags, straws, cigarette ends, ice cream wrappers oil in places along the shore line, the rooms are spacious ,clean and tidy although a little dated, the beds are comfortable. I would not say this hotel is a Disabled friendly hotel, for these reasons there is no disabled access to the beach at all, so if a disabled person did get to the beach there is no disabled facilities for them. There needs to be free access to the beach for disabled people. The wooden platforms need to be extended to at least be along the first row of sun loungers, these also need to be raised to give them better access to them likewise the beach bar needs better access to the beach side, there also should be a disabled toilet down there the only one you have is on the corridor where the shops are this is not sign posted at all. I found it totally by mistake, in the rooms there should be grab rails in the shower you also have some older people who find the floor slipy in them when they are wet this is an accident waiting to happen, In the restaurants there should be a small area of tables with more space around them close to the food stations the toilet in the buffet restaurant requires the doors widening for wheel chair access with a lowered sink. The pool has very limited access to disabled people there is no lift or ramp into the pool to give them access to the pool either the top pool or the lower pool. I myself found this hotel very challenging as a disabled person for these reasons I would not say this hotel is a five star hotel I would also not say this is a premium hotel with the lack of disabled facilities, I spoke to a man who had a mobility scooter who said he had enjoyed his holiday but unfortunately he had not seen the beach and lower tiers of the hotel as he could not access them, there was another lady who was on crutches who also found it very difficult to access the beach, do you really feel this is fair to disabled people we pay just the same as the abled bodied people to come here, I spoke with the Customer relations manager about this who said they had a lift he said he would show me where it was but he never did. I also spoke to the rep who also spoke with the management who came back to me and said the hotel had said 10 minutes before you want to go to the beach ring reception someone will come with a wheel chair and take you to the beach, then when you want to return from the beach ring reception and the same, they will take you back to the top. Firstly, where is the free access? Secondly where is the phone on the beach? I struggled all of this holiday I came home drained, most disabled people will just not say anything struggle go home very disappointed and never return. We are disabled people and deserve to be able to use the facilities of the hotel just the same as the abled bodied people. We should not have to struggle. For this reasons that we cannot I would say this hotel is a very poor 3 Star hotel, I would also advise disabled people not to come to this hotel and struggle like I have. Yours Mr David Heap visited 12/01/2023 to 26/01/2023.
