Johnstons of Elgin tour, tea, and loo
Went on a guided tour of the Mill, then had a cream tea in the restaurant, and a window shopping mooch around the shop.
Designated car space right next to the door.
No gravel anywhere :-)
Everything is on one floor with mainly level and smooth access - there were a couple of ramps but I was able to manage them myself in a manual wheelchair.
The tour was unexpectedly both very interesting and entertaining. Wheelchair accessible throughout.
The restaurant area was accommodating. Some issues with dietary requests(dairy free) from my companions but there were other choices so they didn't miss out.
The toilet was small, quite basic but fairly well designed with useful grab rails - although they should remove some of those bins. The room is In a corner, so a bit tight to get in. Also, there was a sliding door, so you need somebody to shut you in, and then to get you out again.
Larger electric wheelchairs may have problems because not enough space to turn.
Guide dogs are also welcome but be aware that there area couple of noisy areas with large machines, where the staff wear ear defenders.
