Charming French patisserie
Visit date:
Overview
Julien is a charming French patisserie known for its beautifully crafted macarons in a variety of flavours. The shop also offers other delicately designed desserts, making it a lovely spot to enjoy a relaxing afternoon tea.
Transport & Parking
It’s just a few minutes’ walk from Brighton train Station, and there are also bus stops nearby, making it very easy to get to.
Access
Entering the shop from the pavement involves two steps, and there is no ramp available, which makes access difficult for wheelchair users, especially those visiting alone. The entrance is a single manual door. The menu and counter are positioned quite high, which may not be easily reachable from a seated position. There are a few indoor seats available for dine-in.
Toilets
The toilet is located at the back of the café and is reasonably clean. Unfortunately, there is no designated disabled toilet. The space between doors is very narrow, making it difficult for wheelchair users to navigate. In the women’s toilet, the door cannot open fully due to a baby seat blocking the way, further restricting access for wheelchair users.
Staff
The staff are very enthusiastic about introducing the different macaron flavours and are happy to offer samples for tasting.
