Overview
As a manual wheelchair user, I was unable to access the castle. The garden was beautiful, but again access was very difficult (we gave up in the end) as the paths round it were of small stones and grass. A very good cafe which was accessible with the wheelchair. We didn't visit the accessible loo, but there was one along a stony path.
Transport & Parking
You need a car to get here. Disabled parking up at the castle itself, well signposted.
Access
Not suitable for those in a manual wheelchair. Steps to enter the castle and gravel / grass paths to access the garden area. Also, access is gained through the shop, which is small and tricky to get in and out of.
Toilets
Staff
The staff were friendly, but perhaps they need to explain the difficulties of using a manual wheelchair to access the garden and also explain before buying a ticket that the castle is not accessible to wheelchair users.
