Overall Rating
Good
Kelso Library is a small local library offering a range of books (of course) and services for the community. It's ideal if you're looking for something to read or need to make use of the library facilities.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
There are ramps at the entrance, with rails on either side leading to touchpad-activated doors, followed by a second set of automatic doors inside. The front desk is low, making it easy to speak with staff, and a hearing loop is prominently displayed. Some of the bookshelves are too high to reach from a seated position, but library staff are on hand to help if needed. There are plenty of places to sit, and the chairs at the computer equipment can be moved. Navigation was straightforward and I was able to move easily through the shelves of books.
Parking & Transport
Average
I travelled to this place by walk or wheel
Parking is limited outside, with no marked bays. Further down the street, there is a small car park, but I didn't spot any accessible parking spaces. I found a parking space outside the Cross Keys Hotel 160 metres away and wheeled my way to the library.
Accessible facilities: Public or on street parking
Accessible Toilets
There are no toilets at this venue.
Staff
Excellent
The staff were lovely, eager to be featured on Euan’s Guide.
