Overview
This resort was designed for disabled people and all of the facilities and rooms are accessible. There is a swimming pool with a ramp so people can be wheeled into the water. A beach chair is available to use. Throughout the resort there is level access with lots of ramps and wide pathways making it easy for wheelchair users to get around. A couple of accessible minibuses took me out on trips every day to interesting places. All the staff were lovely and friendly, and very helpful. My room was spacious with a bed raised off the ground so that my mobile hoist could get underneath. I had a good sized bathroom with a roll in shower, although there was a little bit of a lip around the shower that my shower chair had to go over.
Transport & Parking
I flew from Manchester airport to Catania airport. At catania I was picked up by a driver from Kiki village in an accessible minibus who then drove us to Kiki village which took about 1.5 hours.
Access
Toilets
There was an ensuite accessible bathroom in my room and there were other disabled toilets around the resort including in the restaurant.
Staff
All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. They organised excursions for us every day and even managed to work out something good to do on a rainy day when the original plan had to be altered. On excursions they gave some good information about the local area and places we visited. Everyone always seemed cheerful and happy to be around.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
We had breakfast lunch and dinner in the restaurant on site most days. The standard of the food is fantastic, and there was lots of it. For breakfast we had a basic continental breakfast which was fine but not anything special. But for lunch and dinner it was traditional Sicilian and Italian food. A word of warning though, don't come here if you are on a diet! They served for courses at lunch, and dinner. Starter, then first main course, then 2nd main course, then desert. I was usually Full up after the first main course, but I could usually squeeze in a desert!
