Overview

Firkin point is a parking area and outdoors access area within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs national park. It provides toilet facilities, camping and picnic areas. Also accessible is the shore of Loch Lomond and long walks that are wheelchair accessible following the old route of the A82. I have not visited recently but live locally (30 minute drive)

Transport & Parking

3.5

There are no specific marked disabled spaces (there are no marked spaces) but unless it's busy you can find room to park. Access is direct off the A82

Access

3.5

Access to the area Is "level" . There are no steps but a few slopes that cannot be removed (this is the Scottish Highlands). Access to the Loch Lomond shore road is down a reasonably steep slope. Needs a fit assistant and good brakes.

Toilets

4

Disabled toilet in toilet block by the carpark. Needs some work on lighting. RADAR key required

Staff

0.5

This is a an area only visited occasionally by Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park staff so no interaction

Anything else you wish to tell us?

It's an outdoor access area which includes some camping areas. It's a really nice area to walk around accepting the limitations. The walk is great but allow for midges along the old road.
