Going Underground

Overview

This station was part of my journey from Waterloo to Paddington. You can watch my entire journey on my youtube channel. Briefly, the staff were great but there was a something missing element of assumption my wheels were the same size as a wheelchair and wouldn't get stuck; but there was no way I would test it in a live situation and get stuck. A ramp was eventually deployed but at Paddington no ramp!

Transport & Parking

2.5

There's lifts throughout the station. Wide gate. Ramps are available for deploying but there's a reluctance to do so.

Access

2.5

the help point is usually in one spot down the platform. TFL are trying to upgrade the access but there's only 77 total completed out of 270 odd. I was informed by a staff member some disability access was removed after completing 2012 olympics, but this is hearsay - although he had no reason to make it up.

Toilets

0

I dont know and didn't use one. I doubt if toilets are available

Staff

helpful staff on the most part, the guy in Waterloo, particularly so.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Travelling the underground isnt practical. Probably best to go by bus as these are also free for wheelchair users.
