Overview

I was travelling alone, Those who pushed my chair were great - but in between times I was just left, in a chair, back to rooms, facing walls and with no access to food, drink or toilets. No one spoke to me. I was left in a ‘Special Assistance’ room for 21/2 hours initially, then rushed through check in and security because I’d been forgotten. We hurtled through the airport past tantalisingly close food and drink, not allowed to stop at a toilet (no time, not my job) and then parked at my Flight Gate, facing a wall and back to the room again No one came back to assist me onto the plane, and the Gate Crew asked if I ‘could at least’ manage the aircraft steps or ‘you’re going to delay your flight even more’ I was a bit scared of the 200 pairs of eyes watching me!! 😊 There was no food other than crisps and chocolate on my flight so I had nothing to eat for over 13 hours and only a cup of coffee.

Travelled by train - assistance was wonderful - except when my exit was blocked by a man with several large cases who wouldn’t let assistance person pass
