Overview
We wanted to see the Moray Motor Museum, which I had heard was accessible for someone in a wheelchair or scooter. Luckily I had my husband with me, because there was no ramp outside and he had to go inside and ask if I could get into the museum on my scooter. They brought the ramp out and I got into the museum without any problems - I am assuming that they don't leave the ramp at the doorway because it sticks out into the pavement. Anyway, the museum is small but perfectly accessible, and it houses a private collection of veteran, vintage and classic cars and motor bikes.
Transport & Parking
There is a small car park across the road from the museum, or you can park at Decora just down the road. You can access the museum from both car parks on a scooter or wheelchair.
Access
Luckily I had my husband with me, because there was no ramp outside and he had to go inside and ask if I could get into the museum on my scooter. They brought the ramp out and I got into the museum without any problems - I am assuming that they don't leave the ramp at the doorway because it sticks out into the pavement. I did have a small issue where the ramp and museum floor met, and my scooter bottomed out, meaning that I had to get off it to get it into the museum, but the staff were very helpful. The rest of the museum was perfectly accessible for a small scooter or wheelchair. I think I might have struggled if I had been on a bigger scooter.
Toilets
The toilet cubicles were big, but as I can walk a little, I left my scooter outside the toilet rather than try to manoeuvre it inside the cubicle.
Staff
The staff were delightful, very helpful and happy to chat about the exhibits. 10 out of 10 for helpfulness, and they also recommended Decora across the road for lunch.
