Museum on the Mound

Been wanting to visit this place for a while - lots of interesting stuff for big and small kids alike! Cool to get up close to £1 million pounds - much smaller that you think it's going to be! We visited in the rain so didn't hang around in the wildflower garden but think that would be a great tranquil place to stop in the middle of bustling Edinburgh. Whilst the museum itself is pretty accessible the museum is three quarters of the way up a big hill - between Princes Street and the High Street. Good size of museum - there are 7 main rooms (I think) and easy to visit in an hour or so. Bonus is that it's free to visit!

Great Museum in an iconic place in the middle of Edinburgh's city centre with great views towards Princess Gardens. With Accessible main entrance, the whole museum is in the same level having a fair space in between walls and corridors making it easier for everybody to visit it. The museum also has Accessible toilets. Worth to be visited.

This is a really good free museum in Edinburgh. It's a small size but with just the right amount of information to make it really interesting. The museum is all on one level too which is great!
