Overview
We had a poor experience at Blickling 2 years ago and following communication with the National Trust hoped it had improved. We are really pleased to say it has.
Transport & Parking
We drove and there are several blue badge parking spaces to the right of the main entrance near the second hand book shop and outdoor dining seating.
Access
We started with the gardens and although it was hard work with the wheelchair we managed to see the temple and used the paths through the trees as well. The paths have stones and in places these were more difficult to manage. The route we took was a mixture of those paths and the grass which might have been more difficult on a wet day. We had been offered an all terrain wheelchair when we arrived and would transfer to one of those in future. In the main building we could not access the basement but all other areas of the building were accessible in the wheelchair. There is a lift to the first floor which was managed by the staff on duty. The cafe and shop are fully accessible and there are two accessible toilets.
Toilets
Fully accessible and reasonably spacious. The red cord did hang in the middle of the room which could get in the way.
Staff
This was the huge difference from our last visit. Staff were helpful and knowledgable about access needs. Very helpful and friendly throughout.
