Good
The Newbridge Garden centre is part of a small chain of Nursuries based in Jersey - website - https://www.bluediamond.gg/garden-centre/newbridge-nurseries. The garden centre sells indoor and outdoor plants as well as high quality gifts and a small range of reasonably priced casual clothing. The site is wheelchair accessible and has a lovely cafe called Stooks with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Cafe sells home cooked food and has its own pastry chef so there are lovely cakes !
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
Fully wheelchair accessible and all on one level. The aisles inside the shop are reasonable wide and access to the cafe is good.
Parking & Transport
Good
You need to travel by car. There are 4 disabled spaces close to the entrance. The spaces are on the end of 4 rows with hashed lines on just one side of each space so you need to make sure you partk the right way round to open the car door depending on whether the disabled person is the driver or passenger.
Accessible Toilets
Good
There is one accessible toilet. Only 3.5 stars because to access the disabled toilet you need to hold open a heavy door leading to the main toilets whilst then opening the disabled toilet so you need a free hand or help. Toilet was clean with easy to reach flush, low level mirror and hand dryer.
Staff
Excellent
The staff in the cafe were very helpful and friendly. I was with a friend who walks with a stick and the young members of staff twice carried a tray over for us and went and found us cutlery and a jug of iced water.
Additional Information
Great to visit an independent garden centre with a good cafe rather than one which is part of a large chain. Cafe staff made the visit extra special and I plan to go back again.
