Delightful, accessible restaurant

Overview

The Silver Restaurant at Newbridge Silverware visitor centre in Newbridge, Ireland. Alongside the restaurant is the opportunity to do a factory tour (which I did not do and can't comment on the access) and visit the shop and their Museum of Style Icons (which has step free access, and I visited and wrote a separate review for). The cafe has great access and is very stylish. It serves lunches and cakes during the daytime when the visitor centre is opened.

Transport & Parking

The nearest train station is Newbridge, which has step free access and from there it is about a 20 minute walk. Although it is a level walk, I found it too much and ended up popping into a chemist for directions and they ended up calling a taxi for me (thank you). The taxi ride was about 5 minutes and dropped me off in the car park right next to the visitor centre. I ordered the taxi to take me back to the station later.

There are large automatic doors. On the ground floor is the shop which goes through to the cafe. The cafe is self service. There are free standing tables and chairs as well as some fixed sofas. The decor is very nice.

Toilets

There is an accessible toilet close to the front door in the shop area. There is a manual door into the toilet area, and then a second door into the accessible toilet cubicle. Apologies I've just realised I forgot to take a photo of the toilet. The accessible toilet had a manual door. It had plenty of grab rails. I can't remember if it has an emergency cord. It was very clean, tidy and well maintained.

Staff

I only had brief interaction with the staff. I asked one of the shop assistants a question and in the cafe I paid for my food. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. This is a lovely cafe, great to pop to in its own right or while visiting the other attractions in the visitor centre.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I had a cheesecake and a drink and my food was delicious.
