Swimming with daughter
My daughter and I are members of Nuffield Edinburgh, and we used the pool in Chesser when the pool in Fountain Park was out of order. My daughter has severe learning disabilities, and we often use the disabled changing facilities as it's easier and caters for her needs. The setup here was okay, but it doubles up as a parent and baby changing facility, and there doesn't appear to be any dedicated disabled changing / showering facility.
So it’s a little awkward as some people need to make use of the space as they move through it to get into the pool. It’s also strange that they have lots of lockers in there which appeared to be quite rusty and in need of repair. There’s no hairdryer in the space and so when we have finished getting ready, we have to go to the men’s changing room to dry her hair
Other than that the pool
Is great, although there isn’t really a dedicated pool for children who may be out of their depth in the main pool One of the old spa pools has been converted into a cool water whirlpool which my daughter loves to play in.
The staff are generally friendly and very helpful and overall it’s a wonderful facility. I do think they could spend a little bit more time thinking about facilities and changing spaces though.
