O2 Academy Birmingham originally opened in the city in 2000 in Dale End with the venue bringing live music to the Midlands for almost a decade before it moved to its current home in Horsefair in 2009. Academy Music Group is committed to supporting new talent and has two additional smaller rooms, O2 Academy 2 Birmingham (600) and O2 Academy 3 Birmingham (250), for emerging artists to play in professionally equipped environments and is perfectly positioned for artists to return, playing to a larger audience on their development path.

Disabled Access at O2 Academy2

The accessible area is located on a small balcony at the rear of the room and can be accessed by lift. The platform can take up to 4 wheelchair users and 4 companion seats. Bar staff will attend the area to take drinks orders from the platform throughout the night. The merchandise stand is in the general admission area which is not accessible by lift. Carers are welcome to enter this area to purchase merchandise on behalf of other customers. Security may also be able to assist in the buying of merchandise.

Customers of O2 Academy2 can use the accessible toilet on the balcony level of O2 Academy1 which is accessed by RADAR key. Please ask staff for assistance in locating the facilities.
