Overview

A lovely local cafe, extremely inviting for all types of custom, including those in need of disabled access. Although not a great deal of room inside for wheelchair use, staff and local customers helpful in arranging tables and chairs around in order to able disabled access if necessary.

Transport & Parking

The Pig and Pastry is just seconds away from a great car park, with disabled parking spaces extremely close to the entrance of the cafe, meaning parking wouldn't be a problem.

Access

The cafe's entrance is small, and when you enter the cafe space inside is limited. However due to the amount of customers using pushchairs and wheelchairs that visit the cafe, they have made enough space to enable a wheelchair to fit round the first two tables on entrance and staff are quick to adjust the surroundings to make this possible.

Toilets

There is one large toilet cubicle at the Pig and Pastry which is sufficient to say the size of the cafe is fairly small. It is down a narrow corridor however big enough for wheelchair access if needed. Not the easiest access to a toilet but certainly able to do so.

Staff

Staff here are friendly and always take into account all customers that may need support. If they see somebody struggling through the door, they are quick to go and offer their support, helping move chairs to make access easier and create space for a wheelchair when space is available. The only thing that puts people off this cafe is how busy it is, meaning disabled customers may struggle to find space, however the local customers seem friendly and were willing to help along with staff when help was needed.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

This cafe isn't the best for disabled access as a whole, however this should not put off a visit as the atmosphere is lovely and food extremely tasty. You are always made to feel very welcome and supported if needed so don't let the lack of space put you off.
