Pizzeria Portofino is a traditional Italian restaurant with indoor and outdoor seat. Please note this is a review of the outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is step free. To go inside the restaurant there is a step and sliding glass doors. It serves delicious pizza and pasta. It is in The Square, a short pedestrianised passageway, just set back off the main shopping street, and it's the first restaurant you come to.

The restaurant is located at the start of a short pedestrianised alleyway and has a cordoned off outdoor seating area. This is where I sat, as I did not want to be removing my mask indoors to eat. There are a few tables and chairs with back support but no arms. To enter the restaurant involves having to pull open glass sliding doors and there is a single step. The combination of both was a little difficult for me with my crutch, so I just opened the doors and spoke to one of the waiters who served me outside, so I did not have to go into the restaurant. Seating outside was perfect for me, as I am still shielding. Sitting out was a good spot to people watch. Personally, the sliding doors and step up would put me off if I was on my own, as I want to be able to concentrate if I have a step to climb and not worry about where my crutch is while holding the doors open at the same time.
Parking & Transport

The nearest tube and railway station is Richmond Station which has step free access via lift. It is a 2 minute walk from there to the restaurant. There are several buses that stop in the main street close by the restaurant.
Accessible Toilets
0I don't know if they have an accessible toilet. There is an accessible toilet a couple of minutes walk away at Richmond Station.
Staff
Excellent
Staff were very helpful and friendly. The service was attentive and food was served piping hot but quite quickly. Did not feel hurried to go.
Additional Information
This is a popular and busy restaurant. Overhearing other customers, it seems to attract loyal regulars. The food was fabulous. It is an authentic Italian restaurant serving delicious food which is reasonably priced. Highly recommend sitting outside.
